Because this radio is fairly heavy (as a built in 110 Volt Linear Power Supply), it really does not pay to ship around the country, so local pick-up would be preferred.
The Kenwood TS 5020S was a very popular radio back in its day.
The tech repairman in me figured I should fix this radio and sell cheaply to a newbie ham to get them started.
However, after digging into the radio I found I needed a couple discreet transistors, that are still available from some suppliers, to even begin to learn if there are other problems (maybe more parts needed??) once these transistors were replaced.
I figured it best to just cut my losses and list this radio for parts for anyone who may have a Kenwood TS 520S needing some parts.
A Kenwood TS 520S can be purchased in working order for $200 to $250, it is just not practical to purchase parts that may fix the problem to get in working condition.
